What size meals should we eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner?

One of my favorite health professionals is the Chinese doctor who runs New Earth Acupuncture in Thousand Oaks, CA.  I'd like to repeat the special diet advice that she recommends:  Eat like a king in the morning, queen for lunch, and a pauper for dinner.  In other words, you should have your largest meals earlier in the day but explicitly avoid a large heavy meal in the evening.  Why?  Your metabolism slows down into the evening as you prepare for sleep.  Having a lot of food in your stomach when you sleep is NOT good because this will convert to fat layers when your metabolism is lowest during sleep.  This is often responsible for the love handles around the belly that are so hard to lose.
