Advice on credit card deals

I recently gave advice to Annie when she asked about credit cards 💳.   It might be helpful so I'm sharing it here:

Watch out for 0% deals — it's a lure to get you hooked.  It got so bad for me with credit card debt years ago that I had to roll thousands into the refinance of my house to get rid of the terrible penalty fees.  Still paying it off in my mortgage payment.

Best credit card deals are through your local credit unions (not banks) — join one.  Discover is also good — but still compare the interest rates and fees. Best if you PAY IT OFF every month.  Don't let yourself be charged interest!  It grows into a real problem.  Live within your means.  Don't get more than 1 card if possible.

Best,
Lee
